Christmas 2013

So, I realize that we are half way to Christmas again, but I really wanted to make sure I posted about this past Christmas.  It was such a fun year with Brennen and I want to remember some of the little things he did and said that made it so wonderful!

Brennen understood a lot more of what was going on this year and it was so much fun as a parent to see the magic of Christmas through your child's eyes!  I have always loved Christmas but having your own child makes it even more magical.  We cut down our first real Christmas tree, made our first gingerbread house and started making some fun traditions that I know we will look forward to every year!

Not having our own house this year during the holidays did make it seem a little strange, but it was still so much fun watching Brennen!

Brennen was still a little unsure of Santa this year but he did pretty good when we went to see him.  He never sat on his lap, but he would sit next to him and tell him what he wanted.  This year Brennen asked for some legos, puzzles, books and a new bike.

We celebrated Christmas with the Robies on Christmas Eve.  I had to work half a day and then we had lunch and opened presents at Ryan's parent's house.  It was a lot of fun and Brennen has such a good time with his cousins!

Christmas Eve night we had dinner at my parent's house with my mom's side of the family.  We had our traditional dinner and the kids opened gifts. It was a wonderful night and after everyone left we had Brennen leave cookies and milk for Santa and carrots and celery for his reindeer. We finally got him tucked into bed and before we knew it we were waking up on Christmas morning.  Brennen was so excited to go upstairs to look to see if Santa had come!

My brother Dustin and his fiance Meg came over for breakfast and to open gifts and we had a wonderful morning together!  Brennen was so excited about all of his gifts. Every time we would hand him a gift he would ask who it was from and say "oh thank you" to whoever got it for him even before he opened it.  It was so sweet!

That afternoon my mom and dad kept B while Ryan and I went to the movies with his mom. We came home and played with Brennen and all his new toys up until bedtime.

It was a great Christmas and we are so blessed and thankful to have such amazing family in our lives!  I still can't believe that this year we will have 3 kids at Christmas time!!
