My Little Man

I don't even know where to begin with Brennen right now. There have been so many little things that I have missed over these past 6 months but I have kept track of a few of them so I will just post what I remember and some recent pictures.  I am pretty convinced that 3 is going to be one of my favorite ages of all time and all I can really say about him is he is one AMAZING boy!!

Back when we were living with my parents, Brennen and I were in bed watching cartoons when they did something nice to each other and I was talking to him about it and he says "oh, that's so wonderful"!  It was just too sweet and perfect timing.

He went through a stage of always wanting to "hide" from us.  He would cover his eyes and think we couldn't see him and we had to guess where he was.  We would ask if he was all kinds of places and then he would finally uncover or open his eyes and scream and get so excited that we finally "found" him.  He also had a new thing where everyday when I got home from work he would run and hide even if I saw him when I walked in the door. He would get mad if I acknowledged him and would run and hide until he was ready to come out and scream.  Then I could "see" him and give him hugs and kisses.  He's so crazy!

Brennen went through another stage of wanting things his way or not at all. It was very trying at times when he would throw a fit when he didn't get his way right away, but I tried to always stay calm and give him choices to make it easier for both of us. I am so glad that this phase has come and gone and he is much easier to reason with these days!

He was so cute with me when I was pregnant with the twins. Brennen always wanted to kiss and hug "the babies" or my belly but some mornings as I would leave for work he would kiss me and then as I was walking out the door say "I almost forgot to kiss the babies".  So I'd have to come back for him to hug and kiss my belly! Cutest.thing.EVER.

My parents and I had taken Brennen and the babies to the Legends to walk around.  Brennen was wearing flip flops and they broke so I told him we needed to go get him some new shoes.  He proceeded to tell me "you and Grandma go get me some shoes while me and grandpa are out and about".

I have no idea where he heard this but he'll say "are you thinking what I'm thinking?"  It just makes us laugh!

My mom and I took him to drive around Wyandotte Lake to see if we could spot any deer.  We told him to "keep his eyes peeled".  When I spotted a deer crossing the road in front of us and told him to look, he said "thanks for keeping your eyes peeled Mommy"!

Brennen is such a loving boy.  He is constantly kissing me and telling me he loves me.  I started telling him he was the best boy in the entire world. Then, the other day I did something for him and he said "thank you Mommy, you're my best girl in the entire world".  Good thing he doesn't realize he could have anything in the world after saying that to me ;)

Whenever he likes what he is wearing or puts on his sunglasses he always says "I'm stylish"!

He LOVES to watch golf with Ryan on TV and he finally got to go play putt putt for the first time.  He was actually really good and almost made a hole in one!  He is just too cute for words :)

Brennen is the BEST big brother ever!  He is so sweet to Lyla and Beckett and it always makes my heart melt when I see how adorable he is with them.  He loves to give them kisses and the way he talks to them is just precious.  He talks in the sweetest voice and tells them "big brother is here" and "please don't cry".  I just love how much he loves them!

Brennen continues to make us laugh and smile everyday!  There is something so special about him and I love that Lyla & Beckett get to grow up with such a great role model. He is so full of life and love and I am so privileged to call him my little man!

Maternity Pictures

My amazing and wonderful friend Crystal took some maternity pictures for us and I am so very grateful that she took the time to capture this wonderful time in our lives!  We actually ended up having two sessions, one with just Brennen and I and then one with Ryan too.  I was around 26 weeks when we took these. She was able to get some awesome shots and I am so happy to have these to remember this pregnancy :)

Christmas 2013

So, I realize that we are half way to Christmas again, but I really wanted to make sure I posted about this past Christmas.  It was such a fun year with Brennen and I want to remember some of the little things he did and said that made it so wonderful!

Brennen understood a lot more of what was going on this year and it was so much fun as a parent to see the magic of Christmas through your child's eyes!  I have always loved Christmas but having your own child makes it even more magical.  We cut down our first real Christmas tree, made our first gingerbread house and started making some fun traditions that I know we will look forward to every year!

Not having our own house this year during the holidays did make it seem a little strange, but it was still so much fun watching Brennen!

Brennen was still a little unsure of Santa this year but he did pretty good when we went to see him.  He never sat on his lap, but he would sit next to him and tell him what he wanted.  This year Brennen asked for some legos, puzzles, books and a new bike.

We celebrated Christmas with the Robies on Christmas Eve.  I had to work half a day and then we had lunch and opened presents at Ryan's parent's house.  It was a lot of fun and Brennen has such a good time with his cousins!

Christmas Eve night we had dinner at my parent's house with my mom's side of the family.  We had our traditional dinner and the kids opened gifts. It was a wonderful night and after everyone left we had Brennen leave cookies and milk for Santa and carrots and celery for his reindeer. We finally got him tucked into bed and before we knew it we were waking up on Christmas morning.  Brennen was so excited to go upstairs to look to see if Santa had come!

My brother Dustin and his fiance Meg came over for breakfast and to open gifts and we had a wonderful morning together!  Brennen was so excited about all of his gifts. Every time we would hand him a gift he would ask who it was from and say "oh thank you" to whoever got it for him even before he opened it.  It was so sweet!

That afternoon my mom and dad kept B while Ryan and I went to the movies with his mom. We came home and played with Brennen and all his new toys up until bedtime.

It was a great Christmas and we are so blessed and thankful to have such amazing family in our lives!  I still can't believe that this year we will have 3 kids at Christmas time!!
