Summertime!

It finally feels like summertime around here!  The beginning of the week was hot, humid and full of sunshine. Yesterday the humidity was much lower and it was beautiful out!  I just wish I could have enjoyed it and not been stuck at a desk :(

This week has been one of the longest weeks I've had in quite some time.  My mom was out of town for 2 weeks, but is finally back. I missed her so much!  Ryan had basketball camp all week and left every morning at 7am and didn't get home until after 7pm.  Needless to say, he was completely exhausted when he got home.  My schedule at work has been different the last 2 weeks and we are supposed to be getting an offer on our house but we haven't heard anything and it is driving me CRAZY!  I am trying to be patient, but it is really hard. I am just so ready for the weekend!

We have been having so much fun with Brennen. He is at such an amazing age right now. He cracks me up with the things he says and does.  He is talking in complete sentences and is so smart.  He will ask us questions in the cutest voice like "you want coffee?" in the morning after I get up, or "where we going?" if I tell him we are going bye, bye.

He wants to help with EVERYTHING that we do. Laundry, dishes, cleaning, making coffee, watering flowers, letting the dogs out and pretty much anything else you can think of. It seems great at first, but it usually makes things take quite a bit longer than they should and sometimes ends with a big mess.  He will say "me do" and doesn't want help doing anything either. We just try to be patient and let him help as much as we can, but sometimes it's hard when I just want to get something done!

He is getting more into watching movies and his current favorite is Toy Story 3.  For some reason that's the only one we have and he loves it. My mom let us borrow Toy Story by Brennen put the DVD somewhere and I can't find it anywhere!  He has finally watched Toy Story 2 as well and he just loves them.  My mom just got him a Buzz Lightyear and Bullseye toy yesterday so I'm sure we'll have the whole set soon!

Here are some pictures from the past few weeks...

Park play date with Landen!
At dinner with my little guy!
Cousins = TROUBLE!!
Playing at Chick-fil-a Monday when Julia watched him
This boy has no fear...it makes me crazy!
Crystal watched B on Tuesday while I worked for just a little bit and she sent me this pic. Such a ham!
When I got there to pick B up, him and Landen were playing in the water with just their underwear on.  Cutest thing ever!
Watching Toy Story 3 the morning I went into work late. I love my time off with my boy!
Stole this from Ryan's Instagram...best wife ever! I decided it had been since I got pregnant with Brennen since I had mowed, so it was about time.  The yard looks the best it has in years ;)
I am so glad that it is finally Friday!  Ryan has a basketball tournament tonight and all weekend so he will be busy.  Our nephew Landen is turning 3 on the 17th so his birthday party is on Saturday.  Then on Sunday we are having both our families over for dinner to celebrate Father's Day.  Should be a pretty good weekend!  TGIF :)

Another Weekend at the Lake!

This past weekend we were invited down to our friend Joe's lake house.  He was crazy and invited our friends Crystal & Tristan and us along with the little guys, Landen & Brennen.  Joe had to work all day Friday but the rest of us were off early so we headed down Friday afternoon and got all our baby gear unpacked and organized before Joe could see the 4-5 trips of "necessities" we had to bring with us ;) Crystal and I were talking about how traveling with 2-year-olds it doesn't matter if you're going for a few days or weeks, you have to pack all the same stuff, just in case you need it!

Friday night we just hung out at the house and made dinner and let the boys play together.  They hadn't been together in awhile and they had an absolute blast getting to spend the entire weekend playing!  I have to give credit to Crystal for all the wonderful pictures!  The lens on my camera broke over Memorial Day weekend, so I have had to send it in to be fixed :(  Some of the pictures are from my iPhone, but the good ones are from her.  Thanks Crystal!

Having a picnic dinner

Best Buddies!
The guys grilled and built a fire which was a perfect end to the evening once the little guys were in bed.

Pretty much the only reason I like camp fires. Yum!
Saturday morning was a little chilly, so we made some breakfast and let the boys play around the house. Crystal had bought the boys matching PJ's for the trip. Aren't they just adorable!

Blowing bubbles!

We then decided to head out for a short boat ride.  Crystal and I didn't even bother putting our suits on since it was so early and we thought we'd be back before heading out to grab some lunch. Well, it was so beautiful out that we ended up taking a long boat ride, Tristan wake boarded and then we stopped at Coconuts to have lunch on the way back to Joe's house.  We all had so much fun.  Coconuts is an awesome place with a gorgeous swimming pool, swim-up bar, sand volleyball, beach area and a great kids play area.  The food was really good and it feels like you are at a nice resort.  The weather was absolutely perfect!  The sun was warm, but there was a cool breeze that kept it very comfortable.

Potty training on a boat!
The boys kept themselves busy with the ice bucket from their Daddy's beers while we finished up lunch!

The boys had both fallen asleep on the morning boat ride, so when we got back to Joe's after lunch Crystal and I both attempted to put the boys down for their naps with no success. Not because they weren't tired, but I think they both thought they would miss too much fun if they fell asleep.  We decided that we needed to go back out on the boat and they would probably both crash.  Well, that was the ticket!  Ryan, Joe & Tristan went tubing and Brennen and Landen both ended up falling asleep for close to an hour while we cruised around on the boat. It was such a perfect day!

That night we made dinner, got the boys showered and let them watch a movie before they went to bed.  We were all exhausted from such a wonderful day!

Too much cuteness!!
Sunday we woke up to cloudy skies and rain so we cleaned up and headed back home pretty early.  We were hoping for one more boat ride, but it was nice to get home early enough to still have the evening to enjoy.

It was such a wonderful weekend with great company!  Can't wait to hopefully do it again :)

Birthdays, Family & a Showing

Pretty much all our weekend consisted of.

We celebrated the death of our friend Dustin's youth on Friday night. He turned 30!  Sounds really sad, right?!?  We had a blast celebrating with lots of friends we don't get to see very often!

Since my mom is out of town, Brennen got to spend the night with just Grandpa.  They had a blast together!

Saturday we had another birthday party to go to for my friend's little boy Luca.  He is 2 years old!  I can't believe how fast our babies are growing up!

Ryan's cousin was in town with some of her friends for the Color Run, so we had them over for dinner Saturday night.  Brennen was hilarious trying to show off for 6 young ladies! He took them all to see his room and started rolling around in his bed and just being completely crazy.  It was really pretty funny to watch.

B has still been doing really well potty training.  He started something new this weekend.  He wants to have his privacy when going #2.  He will tell us to get out and shut the door.  It has actually worked great and he does his business even better when we aren't in there.  I just think it is so funny how kids realize they want privacy at such a young age. But if it helps prevent accidents, I'll let him sit by himself all day :)

Sunday started out to be a very lazy day. I knew I needed to clean the house but just didn't have the energy, so I played with B all morning instead.  He had been begging to play with playdoh all week, so I finally gave in and got it out.  And of course, the day I decide to be lazy we get a call for a showing.  We had about an hour from the time we got the call to the time we had to leave so we quickly cleaned and headed out.  We haven't gotten any feedback yet, so I'm not sure how it went.  I am just glad we had at least someone come through this weekend!

Memorial Day Weekend 2013

We headed down to the lake for Memorial Day weekend this year and had a wonderful time!  The weather was looking to be a little "iffy" the days leading up to us going, but it all turned out to be better than we could have hoped for!

All loaded up and on our way!
We got down to the house around 9:30 on Friday night and by the time we got unloaded and went to say hi to my parents, Brennen didn't get to sleep until almost 11pm!  My parents bought the house two doors down from Ryan's parents at the lake.  They are in the process of finishing their house so they came down this past weekend to work. I was worried about how grumpy Brennen would be the next day, but he was great all day. He's a true lake boy!

B wasn't too sure what to think about the fish but he asked to go fishing again, so I think he enjoyed it!

Enjoying a donut at Grandma & Grandpa's house
And can't have donuts without some chocolate milk!
We got up nice and early on Saturday becuase the dogs were anxious to get out of the house and go explore!  They pretty much wined all night so it was really hard for me to get much sleep.

It was a little cloudy when we got up and it ended up pouring for about 5 minutes, but then it cleared out and was a gorgeous day!  Ryan and I ended up meeting up with some friends for a few drinks and some lunch which was a blast!  We got to cruise on their pontoon boat which was amazing. I could have stayed on that boat all day! I unfortunately didn't take any pictures...what was I thinking??

Brennen stayed back with Nana, Papa & Aunt Sarah and took a nice nap and a boat ride while we were gone. Ryan smoked some pulled pork so we played some games and enjoyed dinner and had so much fun!

We ended the day with a fire and s'mores...could it get much better?!?!

Sunday we went for a boat ride and hung out on the dock and relaxed most of the day.  It was so nice to be away and enjoy ourselves so much!

Brennen did amazing with the potty training while at the lake. He didn't have any accidents the whole weekend!  Such a good boy :) He did struggle some getting back home and into the swing of things, but I think it is some our fault too. Trying to remember to take him every 30 minutes or so is quite the task!  He continues to stay dry at night and during naps too. He did have his first accident in bed, but I think we didn't get him up quick enough. Other than that he has done amazing! I am so proud of how quickly he has picked this up and don't miss the diapers one bit :)

We don't get service while at the lake, but I had to sneak away a few times to check my phone to see if we had any showings on the house.  I was surprised to see 2 showings set up for Saturday, and 2 for Sunday!  Turns out one of the people who came to look on Saturday returned for a 2nd showing on Sunday.

We got home Monday around 2:30pm and ate lunch and started unpacking when I got a call that we had another showing from 4:30-5:30pm that night.  Ryan quickly mowed the lawn while I did a quick cleaning of the house and we were once again packed in the car with B and the two dogs.  Not exactly what I was looking forward to doing that evening.

Spending some time at the park during the showing

Long story short, it was the same person coming back for a 3rd showing and they stayed an hour past the scheduled showing time. So at 6:30pm we could finally go home! We were exhausted and all I was thinking was this better be worth it!

She did end up putting in an offer and we countered, but then we haven't heard anything.  We don't really know what happened and our realtor said we should just move on.  So, that is what we are doing...
