Enjoying Springtime!

It was a good week last week!  I went to dinner Monday night with my girl friends from high school, and it is always so great to get together and catch up.  I forgot to take a picture of all of us this time, but hopefully we will do it again sooner rather than later! Ryan and Brennen took the dogs to the park and went and enjoyed a daddy/son dinner and a trip to the "Jayhawk store" as Brennen calls it. 

Tuesday night when Ryan picked up B, the first thing he asked to do was go to the park again.  So when I got home we loaded up the dogs and all headed to the park. It was a little chilly, but still wonderful to get out.

My cousin Sheila gave Brennen a huge chocolate bunny for Easter, so I told him if he made a happy plate he could have some. Sure enough, he ate all his food so I had to stick to my word!

I had Wednesday off and spent the day cleaning the house and getting some things done for B's birthday party.  I can't believe it is only 2 weeks away! My wonderful mom came over to run errands and help with everything.  I am so thankful to have such an amazing mom!  We did a trial run on B's birthday cake and I am so excited to make it for his birthday :)  My mom made most of our birthday cakes growing up, so it is so much fun for me to be able to do the same for my own child!

After dinner that night, we actually put candles in the cake, lit them and sang happy birthday to Brennen and let him blow out his candles.  Last year he cried when we all sang to him and wouldn't even touch his cake.  Then in February we were celebrating my cousin's birthday and he cried when we sang to her.  So, we figured we would practice a few times leading up to his party so hopefully he will be okay with it by then :)  What we do for our kids!  He actually loved us singing to him since he now tries to sing with us, then he blew out the candles and ate a piece of cake with no problem.  I just hope he doesn't get scared with all the people at his party.  I guess we'll see when the time comes :)

Ryan's mom and sister got B a big Mickey Mouse painting book for Easter. He was very excited to try it out, so we let him paint a picture that night before shower time!

Thursday night we just stayed home and relaxed. When I got home Ryan was outside doing some work in the yard and here is what B did for about 20 mins while I got dinner ready...

He scooped and dumped the rocks and couldn't have been happier!

Then on Friday night we headed over to our friends Crystal and Tristan's for dinner.  It was so beautiful out that the boys played and we enjoyed our dinner outside!

I didn't get a picture of it, but in the above picture you can see the little trampoline in the background.  Brennen & Landen had a blast jumping and tackling each other in there!


Saturday we ran some errands and then Ryan put the smoker to good use and we had some friends over for dinner.  It was another beautiful evening so we were able to enjoy being outside and even used the fire pit!

Sunday we played outside some more before going to watch Ryan play some indoor soccer.  Brennen's new favorite activity outside is playing fetch with the dogs. 

The weekend seemed to absolutely fly by and luckily yesterday seemed to do the same. I hope the rest of the week continues to go by fast and then it can slow down for next weekend!
