Catching Up

I have fallen a little behind with my last update so I am going to just catch up from last weekend and this week all at once.

Last Friday we went to dinner with our friends Landon & Julia.  Julia's sister, Jenn, was in town so she finally got to meet Brennen!  I didn't get any pictures of our dinner because we sat outside and it was really dark.  Before we went to dinner, we put B to work picking up the walnuts in the backyard.  They are going to be really bad this year. Our whole backyard is already covered!  Unfortunately, all the walnuts that made it into the trash can were just eventually thrown right back out.  Oh well, maybe this weekend we can try again :)

Saturday Ryan played in a golf tournament and I had my 10 year high school reunion. It was great to spend time with some old friends!  My friend Shannon flew in from California and I got to see her for the first time in way too long.  It's crazy how life flies by! I can't believe it's already been 10 years.

Sunday we went over to our friend's house to watch the Chiefs game. Brennen and I were only able to stay for the first half because it was nap time. That night we went to Harrah's to have dinner with my parents, my brother Chris, my cousin Sheila and her husband Kevin.  Sheila is pregnant and today is her due date!  It was so great to see them one more time before the baby comes. I am bummed I didn't get a picture of her, but we can’t wait to meet Shane!!

Slam Dunk!
B didn't even make it half way home before he was out!

I didn't do very well getting very many pictures from this week.  Monday & Tuesday we just hung out at home.  Wednesday was my day off this week so my Mom & I ran some errands and spent the day with our friend Martha making some hooded bath towels.  Ryan had parent/teacher conferences Wednesday and Thursday nights.  Thursday night I was able to get a massage from our friend Melody. It was wonderful!

B was vacuuming and the hot dog dance came on TV and I happened to catch his excited face!
Being spoiled by Grandma with an ice cream cone
Brennen loves pumpkins! Every time he sees ones he starts yelling his version of pumpkin.
Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Another Week Down

Hope everyone had a great one :) I am so happy it's Friday! Come on 5 o'clock!

Monday we just took it easy and took advantage of the beautiful weather we've been having.  It was a bit chilly, but we bundled up and took the dogs for a walk.

Tuesday I got off work early so my Mom and I headed out to the Legends to enjoy some more of the wonderful weather!

B showing off his new jeans and Nikes that Grandma got him!

And then he did this...he's so crazy!
Wednesday Ryan had a meeting out at the high school for his new coaching job.  He is going to be coaching the Freshmen boys basketball team this year!  There was a soccer game that a few of his previous students were playing in so B and I went with him to watch for a little while.  We watched some of the game, but B was more interested in running around with the other kids that were there!

He was exhausted!
We are in the process of B going from taking two naps (usually 1.5 to 2 hours each) a day to only one (maybe 2 hour) nap a day.   We have been putting him in bed in the afternoon and he will sit in there and talk and play.  After about 30 minutes we will go get him. This has happened for a week off and on and we finally decided he was done with the afternoon nap.  Some nights he is more cranky than others, but he usually does pretty good. This also means he is going to bed quite a bit earlier than he used to, which has been really nice for us.  We actually get a little down time before we go to bed!

My Mom & Dad went to the lake Wednesday night so Thursday B got to spend the day with Julia!  She sent me this pic of him eating breakfast.  He put his hat on as soon as he got out of bed and wore it while he ate breakfast too!

I picked these up at the store on Wed. night and they are great for a fall breakfast!  Not too much pumpkin spice to be overpowering. B even enjoyed them :)
Thursday night we just stayed home and took it easy.

I have my 10 year high school reunion on Saturday night, but other than that we don't have much planned.  Should be a nice relaxing weekend.  Hope you all have a great weekend too!

Weekend Recap (9/14 thru 9/16)

I had Friday off last week, so my weekend started a day early!  Brennen slept in so I was able to get the house most of the way ready for the showing later in the afternoon.

Brennen enjoying a bagel before heading to Grandma & Grandpa's!
My mom had a birthday party for a few family friend's kids during the day.  It was so great to get all the kids together and be able to spend time together!

After everyone left, we headed back home to get the house ready for the showing.  It was so beautiful out that my mom and I decided to take the dogs and Brennen for a walk while my dad showed the house.

Our other babies, Kaiser & Jaxon
Daddy met us on the walk and helped Brennen walk the dogs!
My dad called while we were on the walk saying that the lady loved our house and wanted it!  She made us an offer that was lower than what we wanted to go, so we countered and she said she was going to go to the bank this week and see about getting approved.  So if everything works out, we may sell our house!  I am trying not to get my hopes up, but I really can't help it.  We need more room ASAP!! I'll keep you updated on what happens.  Hopefully, I will have some good news later this week :)

That night we had dinner plans with our friends Andrew & Amber.  They have an adorable little girl, Emery, who is 3 weeks younger than Brennen.  Amber fixed pepper jack, green apple, bacon & avocado grilled cheese sandwiches.  They were awesome!! Amber is one of my friends who encouraged me to start a blog. She is also one of the most creative people I know!  Her blog, i thought of it second, is so much fun to read and I recommend you go check it out for yourself!

Emery & Brennen
Brennen trying out Emery's sunglasses. I showed this picture to Emery after I took it and she let out the cutest little giggle.  She thought he looked pretty funny in her glasses!
It took Brennen quite a while to warm up to this tunnel. He had to watch Emery go through it a few times before he got the courage to do it.  Then he crawled like a maniac to get out of it as fast as he could.
Saturday Ryan had another cross county meet so my mom, my brother Chris and I decided to take Brennen out to the Louisberg Cider Mill.  It turned out to be a pretty cloudy day, so it wasn't very crowded at all.  We took a hay ride, went through the corn maze and let Brennen play.  He loved being outside!

Sunday we had friends over to watch the Chiefs game.  There wasn't much of a game to watch, but it was nice having everyone over.  Brennen got to play with Harper again and this time I made sure to take pictures!

Holding hands :)

I told Brennen to sit next to Harper so I could take their picture, and this is what he did. Too sweet!
Ryan went to play football with all of the guys after the game, so Brennen and I headed to Antioch Park to play and walk around the pond.  He is such a fun boy!

Hope you all had a wonderful weekend. I am already looking forward to Friday at 5!

Weekly iPhone Recap (9/10 thru 9/14)

Better late than never, here is last weeks recap!

I really slacked on taking pictures this week.  We had a pretty crazy few days, so the only nights I have pics from are Monday & Thursday.

Monday night we went to dinner with our friends Landon & Julia. We needed to catch up with them since they were out of town last weekend and again this weekend :(

We went to the blanc burgers + bottles on the plaza.  It has a very modern feel and the food was pretty good.
We met my parents to pick up B on Monday night and this is how we find him when we pulled up. Waving and smiling out the sunroof!

We tried the Salmon, Inside Out, American Kobe & Bison burgers. We also tried the onion rings, sweet potato fries and regular fries.  It's kind of hard to see in the pic but they served the sides in cute little shopping carts.
For those of you that don't know, we are trying to sell our house.  We have had it up by owner since the end of March.  We had a handful of people come look and one girl who came and looked twice, but decided she wasn't interested. Other than that, not much luck.  So, Tuesday night we had a realtor come over who had come to look at the house the week before for one of her clients.  Her client was interested in looking at our house so there were some things she wanted to go over with us on Tuesday night and then on Wednesday night her client came to look.

For most people this wouldn't be a big deal.  Well, we have two big dogs that are very protective of their house and yard.  This means we have to take them to Ryan's parent's house when we have showings so they don't bark like crazy at these poor people and they can go in the backyard without getting licked!  So, both days Ryan had to get off work, take the dogs to his parent's house, come back to show the house, we would go get Brennen from my parents, pick the dogs up from Ryan's parent's then finally make it home.  Needless to say we didn't have much time at home either night.

Ryan said the first thing out of her client's mouth when they walked in was "wow, this is really nice"!  So let's hope he loved it and we will hear something soon!  Our fingers are crossed :)

Thursday night I met my mom at Walmart to do some shopping and pick Brennen up.

Having fun in the toy isle!

B was pretty excited about his cookie after dinner

Grandma got him some new KU pajamas

A little reading before bedtime!

Thursday night we got a call to have another showing Friday at 4, so it seems like the craziness isn't going to stop for the weekend either!
