Oregon

Well, I survived my first trip away from my babyA couple months ago, we were trying to plan a vacation and ended up finding tickets to Portland for a great price. Ryan has family in Oregon so we decided to take a trip to visit them. Our friends Landon & Julia came along with us and we had a wonderful time!

We arrived on Wednesday night so got up and decided to go explore some of the city on Thursday.

Cute coffee shop we went to

Cheers!
Waterfront
$1 Blue Moon, $2 for six wings...awesome night!
Who could resist these awesome sunglasses!
Friday we got up and headed to Voodoo Doughnuts.  There was a line out the door at 10:30am.  They have some unique donuts so it was really tough to decide what to get.

Ryan's choice, the Maple Bacon Bar
My choice, the Old Dirty Bastard (yes, that is oreos & peanut butter...yum!)
After our sugar high kicked in, we did some shopping for some Ducks apparel for the game on Saturday and just kind of took it easy the rest of the day.

That night we had some of the best sushi I have ever had!  It was so good that I have been craving it for the last few days! If you are in Portland, I highly recommend it.  It is a tiny place in an old house but such great food and service!!

Saturday we got up and headed out pretty early to get out of Portland and into Eugene before there was too much traffic.  It was about an hour and a half drive and luckily we missed all the traffic.

The awesome view from our seats!
It was such a fun atmosphere to be in.  There is so much energy in the stadium and you can't help but have a great time!

Sunday was a rough day.  We got up around 6:45am to head back to catch our flight in Portland. We were exhausted, but had such a wonderful time that is was all completely worth it!

Thank you so much to Ryan's family (the McBee's) for taking such great care of us while we were there! It is always so good to see you all and we can't wait to hopefully come back again soon!

We were very happy to get home to our little man!  Here he is in the outfit we brought back for him!

It has been a long week trying to get back into the swing of things.  I think I need another few days off just to catch up on sleep!

Hope you all had a great week and have a wonderful weekend!  Our plan is to take it easy and catch up on some sleep...we'll see if that happens!

Weekend Recap (9/28 thru 9/30)

We actually had a pretty relaxing weekend!  Friday night we took it easy at home.
Here is B "sleeping" on the kitchen floor. When he gets tired he grabs him blankie, lays on it and says "night, night"!
Mama's boy!
I realized how long B's hair is getting, so I gave him a mohawk :)
Saturday morning we got up and took the dogs for a walk and let B play outside for a little while.  Then I had a baby shower to go to so B stayed home with Daddy to take his nap.

B helping me mop the floors...such a big helper ;)
Brennen loves to read. He can identify almost any animal we show him and knows what sound they make.  My favorite is hearing him meow like a cat because he gets this really soft, sweet voice. It is adorable!
You will hear me talk about my "second family" or adopted family" quite a bit on here.  My mom has known the Barraclough family since she was 12 years old.  So I have known them all my life. We are so excited to welcome another member to the family. Here are a few pictures from Krystal's baby shower!

Sunday was my brother Dustin's girlfriend Meg's birthday.   We went to The Well and had brunch. It's always good to get to see them!

Happy Birthday Meg!
B had fun, but it didn't even take him 5 minutes in the car to fall asleep!
After the Chiefs game Ryan went to play football so Brennen and I headed over to my Mom's house. She was watching some family friend's kids (they are part of my adopted family I was talking about earlier) and I knew Brennen would love to go play with them!

Fun with the Cozy Coop!
Hope you all had a great weekend too!  I only have to work today, then we are leaving on vacation without Brennen for 5 days :(  This will be the first time I will be away from him for more than one night.  Luckily, I have Wednesday off and we don't leave until 5:30pm so I will make sure to get lots of snuggles and kisses before we leave!

Have a wonderful week!

Catching Up

I have fallen a little behind with my last update so I am going to just catch up from last weekend and this week all at once.

Last Friday we went to dinner with our friends Landon & Julia.  Julia's sister, Jenn, was in town so she finally got to meet Brennen!  I didn't get any pictures of our dinner because we sat outside and it was really dark.  Before we went to dinner, we put B to work picking up the walnuts in the backyard.  They are going to be really bad this year. Our whole backyard is already covered!  Unfortunately, all the walnuts that made it into the trash can were just eventually thrown right back out.  Oh well, maybe this weekend we can try again :)

Saturday Ryan played in a golf tournament and I had my 10 year high school reunion. It was great to spend time with some old friends!  My friend Shannon flew in from California and I got to see her for the first time in way too long.  It's crazy how life flies by! I can't believe it's already been 10 years.

Sunday we went over to our friend's house to watch the Chiefs game. Brennen and I were only able to stay for the first half because it was nap time. That night we went to Harrah's to have dinner with my parents, my brother Chris, my cousin Sheila and her husband Kevin.  Sheila is pregnant and today is her due date!  It was so great to see them one more time before the baby comes. I am bummed I didn't get a picture of her, but we can’t wait to meet Shane!!

Slam Dunk!
B didn't even make it half way home before he was out!

I didn't do very well getting very many pictures from this week.  Monday & Tuesday we just hung out at home.  Wednesday was my day off this week so my Mom & I ran some errands and spent the day with our friend Martha making some hooded bath towels.  Ryan had parent/teacher conferences Wednesday and Thursday nights.  Thursday night I was able to get a massage from our friend Melody. It was wonderful!

B was vacuuming and the hot dog dance came on TV and I happened to catch his excited face!
Being spoiled by Grandma with an ice cream cone
Brennen loves pumpkins! Every time he sees ones he starts yelling his version of pumpkin.
Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Another Week Down

Hope everyone had a great one :) I am so happy it's Friday! Come on 5 o'clock!

Monday we just took it easy and took advantage of the beautiful weather we've been having.  It was a bit chilly, but we bundled up and took the dogs for a walk.

Tuesday I got off work early so my Mom and I headed out to the Legends to enjoy some more of the wonderful weather!

B showing off his new jeans and Nikes that Grandma got him!

And then he did this...he's so crazy!
Wednesday Ryan had a meeting out at the high school for his new coaching job.  He is going to be coaching the Freshmen boys basketball team this year!  There was a soccer game that a few of his previous students were playing in so B and I went with him to watch for a little while.  We watched some of the game, but B was more interested in running around with the other kids that were there!

He was exhausted!
We are in the process of B going from taking two naps (usually 1.5 to 2 hours each) a day to only one (maybe 2 hour) nap a day.   We have been putting him in bed in the afternoon and he will sit in there and talk and play.  After about 30 minutes we will go get him. This has happened for a week off and on and we finally decided he was done with the afternoon nap.  Some nights he is more cranky than others, but he usually does pretty good. This also means he is going to bed quite a bit earlier than he used to, which has been really nice for us.  We actually get a little down time before we go to bed!

My Mom & Dad went to the lake Wednesday night so Thursday B got to spend the day with Julia!  She sent me this pic of him eating breakfast.  He put his hat on as soon as he got out of bed and wore it while he ate breakfast too!

I picked these up at the store on Wed. night and they are great for a fall breakfast!  Not too much pumpkin spice to be overpowering. B even enjoyed them :)
Thursday night we just stayed home and took it easy.

I have my 10 year high school reunion on Saturday night, but other than that we don't have much planned.  Should be a nice relaxing weekend.  Hope you all have a great weekend too!
